The biggest change is the late start to band camp this year. School is starting late, August 31st this year, so band camp is a week later. It is still two weeks, it's just starting a week later than usual.
We will be seeing some new competition for the football team this year from Concord HS and Pencader Charter, but it looks like we will be saying goodbye to Archmere and our 896 rivals Middletown. I have some USSBA shows on the schedule this year, and I'm still waiting to see what things look like in TOB before putting anything of that circuit on our schedule. Of course, this is all tentative, so check back often. I am attaching a PDF below of the calendar so it is easily downloaded and printed.

To all Glasgow High School Band members and their families: Happy Holidays! I hope you all have a safe and restful season and a happy new year! As we get ready for the second half of the school year in the beginning of 2009, we get to start working on our new music for concert band, jazz band and steel band. Not all our plans are set yet but I'd like to do Prelude, Siciliano and Rondo definitely for Concert Band and Sidekick in Jazz Band. There's also the new Glasgow Percussion Ensemble we're trying to start at Glasgow. If you are interested in playing keyboard or non-pitched instruments in the pit for the GPE, please talk to Mr. Rogalski on our return from winter break. See everyone in January! |

Thank you, everyone, for the great concert on Tuesday night. This was definitely the smoothest running concert I've ever experienced here at Glasgow with the Steel Band, Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band. The reviews I've heard from parents, faculty and students have been very positive. Make sure to bring your music to class so we can organize it and hand it in. If you have lost any music, you may be required to pay $2 to replace each piece of music not handed in. Thank you again, and have a wonderful season. -Mr. R |
