Dear Glasgow Band Students and Families, This is a busy time of year for everyone so I thought I would send out a reminder of upcoming events for the students involved in the instrumental music programs here at Glasgow High School. There are three events that are important for everyone to remember. This weekend, December 12-14, the Glasgow Band will be having a fundraiser at five Below at the Christiana Town Center. If you bring the appropriate flyer in, the Glasgow band will receive 10% of all purchases. This is an easy fundraiser and every penny helps! Also this weekend is the GHS Craft Fair. We need students and parent volunteers to man the Band Parent booth at the Fair. The hours are 9:00-3:00 on Saturday, December 13th. Please see if you can find an hour or two in your schedule to make sure we have enough help at the Craft Fair. Students can volunteer to help on the sign-up sheet outside the band room. Finally, the GHS annual Winter Concert is on Tuesday, December 16th at 7:00. This involves the students in the Jazz Ensemble, Mixed Chorus, Steel Band, Canterbury Chorus, Orchestra and Concert Band. I’m asking students in the Jazz Ensemble to report at 6:15 for a sound check and the rest of the students at 6:45. Concert attire is black for the steel band and jazz ensemble and white tops (ties for guys) and black pants/long skirts for concert band. Thank you. I hope to see everyone at some point at the fundraiser, craft fair, and winter concert. Sincerely, Michael Rogalski Director of Bands |
